The Epic Smart Shield has a few advantages over RO: 1. It leaves the trace minerals in your water so there is no need to re-mineralize the water like you have to with RO. 2. It is a much better value proposition. 3. It is DIY installation whereas RO is not. 4. RO wastes a lot of water to generate one gallon of filtered water. The one benefit that RO has compared to the Smart Shield is that RO removes fluoride up to 100% whereas the Smart Shield only removes around 30% of fluoride. We are coming out with an inline fluoride filter (for the Smart Shield) and a 3 stage system so stay tuned!
