Maybe, but likely no.

If water is passing through your water really quickly, like it seems be pouring straight through and not filtering, then it likely isn't filtering.

This typically happens when one of the carbon blocks becomes loose during shipment. One way to tell if this is what's going on is to unscrew the filter, shake it, and if you hear something rattling then bingo. Loose carbon block.

Either way, please get in touch with us and we'll help you sort through whether it's normal or not. If you hear the rattling, let us know and we will send you a replacement filter.
